Bittersweet blog. Mostly bitter.
This was intended to be a recap of underOATH, but there are more important things to talk about right now. But I'll delve into the show a bit. Maylene was great. I love Dallas Taylor. Poison The Well sucked. No one cared. Every Time I Die was good. Lots of fun. Underoath was amazing as always, s according to Spencer, they'll be back soon. I didn't meet them myself, because I left Pop's and came back and only Chris Dudley was left. And we're already BFFs. But anyways.
Dave Douglas announced that he was leaving Relient K today. As most of you know, this is my favorite band. And Dave is one of my favorites. He was the greatest guy when I met him, even going back on the bus to fetch Jon so I could meet him. He's an amazing drummer and vocalist as well. I really have no idea what Relient K is going to do now, or how they'll ever replace (per se) him. His last show is set for December 29 and a bunch of us in RK nation are plotting how we will make it to that show. Odds are it'll be in Dave's home state of Ohio, which is a nice central location I guess. All I know is, I need to be there. Basically at this point, I could see RK 1 more time before Dave leaves or 5 times. It all just depends.
Man. As soon as I saw Jess' bulletin. Subject being Dave :'( I just knew. I braced myself for the worst, and received it. I didn't know how to respond. I mean, I'm sad, but I have no means of expressing it and no one to share in the sadness with. I just bottled it up I suppose. The emotion comes in waves, but I just suppress it. I don't know what else to say. No sense in beating a dead horse (or drummer). Obviously he isn't dead. He isn't even out of music. He'll do Gypsy Parade with his wife full time from the looks of things. I can't wait to see them. Accentuate the positive. Chin up, Chris. Same goes to the rest of you. Hang in there.

Song of the day: Just listen to some RK. Right now, my song is Give.

Why Do All These Amazing People Decide to Leave Their Amazing Bands All At The Same Time! Man, This Is Not A Good Month. D:
RK nation?
&I wish I could make that show too.
It'd actually be pretty amazing being in america on new years' eve.
Unfortunately, impossible.
&I'm actually not sad. Heartless? Nope, just that when I saw the title 'Sad News' on my RK RSS feed, I panicked and thought the worst [ i.e RK splitting up therefore I could never see them live ]
At least he'll still be around.
